Kody is a very sweet, gentle giant. He is a large framed Husky boy and because of a sedentary lifestyle, a little overweight. Kody came to SHRF from an owner who loves him deeply, but due to losing her spouse, found herself unable to continue to properly care for him or give him the time and attention she knows he deserves. Wanting do what was best for Kody, she reached out to SHRF for help in rehoming him.
He lives in a home with another dog and several cats and gets along very well with his brother, a medium-sized hound mix. He knows some basic commands such as sit and shake hands and will sit still for a good brushing.
Kody will gently take treats from your hand, especially if he’s the only one vying for a snack. If there’s competition, he may occasionally need to be reminded of his manners.
He does not have a lot of experience with children and, while he seems gentle enough for toddlers, just his large size may be enough for him to inadvertently knock one over.
Kody is curious and loves to wander around new surroundings such as a yard or lanai he’s unfamiliar with or even at the pet store. He enjoys car rides, taking walks, and could benefit from more frequent and longer walks since this big boy could lose a few pounds in order to be in the best of health.
Kody is healthy, Heartworm negative, housebroken, neutered and up-to-date on shots. This easy-going, laid back boy deserves to have another chance at a loving, forever home. Fill out an adoption application at the upper left corner of this page, today.
