Dog Name: Allira

Allira is probably the sweetest Husky you will ever meet. She is super affectionate and gives nuzzles and face licks to everyone she meets. Her passion is belly rubs and any other type of petting you will give. If you stop before she is ready she will scoop your hand with her paw to bring it back or she'll gently nudge you with her paw to let you know that she wants more.

She was found wandering the streets and taken to a shelter from which she eventually was sent to SHRF. On the car ride from the shelter to her foster home she sat up and quietly looked out the window taking it all in. Upon meeting her foster siblings, she was a little uncertain at first but rapidly warmed up to the situation. Allira seems to prefer to be around and play with male dogs rather than other females and indicated that she is not a fan of small dogs.

Allira was initially jealous of the other dogs and wanted all the attention herself. She’s being taught to share and that everyone gets equal attention. She’s also possessive with personal space and dog toys so has some learning to do in that area as well.

She will go to the door to let you know that she wants to go out, but it helps if you watch her for signs of her getting a bit restless in the house. She pulls when on lead but is being corrected with training. She finds walks very exciting and likes exploring.

Allira seems to enjoy playing ball, catching it in the air and then running off with it. Sometimes, but not always, she will return it when you tell her to drop it. She also has fun just chasing the ball as it rolls around the floor and catching it that way. Soft squeaky toys are entertaining too. She'll chew on them a bit, but mostly likes to have them near her.

Allira has found a new treat in her foster home tossing it up in the air and playing with it before deciding to finish eating it. We think her future home should lay in a supply of Salmon Jerky sticks for her to enjoy. They will make a great training incentive too.

This beauty is healthy, Heartworm negative, housebroken, spayed, up-to-date with vaccines and microchipped. This wonderful girl will bring a ton of joy to your household, fill out an adoption application at the upper left corner of this page, today.
