Nikki is a beautiful, petite tricolor Husky girl who, from inactivity, could do with losing a few pounds. She was surrendered to a shelter through no fault of her own. Her previous owner had to go back to work which meant he would be traveling every week and had no options for her care. He wanted her to have a stable home environment and not worried about him being gone all the time.
Nikki is tolerant of other dogs, although she doesn't have much interest in them. She will keep herself entertained as she loves playing alone.
Being a smaller Husky, she has learned to be tough and not put up with any nonsense from other dogs - and lets them know it. Even so, she has indicated that she cat friendly but caution is always advised.
Nikki walks well on lead and knows basic commands such as sit, down, shake, stay, and come. She will let you know when she wants something by her adorable little whine.
Nikki is non destructive when left alone and will, like most Huskies, never need a crate; much preferring to be close to her humans. She loves to play fetch but doesn't like to share her ball with other dogs.
She also has a tendency to bury her toys wherever she finds a good hiding place for safe keeping. Where did that hole in the back yard come from you ask? Nikki has been known to do some of her own landscaping in the yard by burying her ball or other toys. When she is finished enjoying her time outside running around, if permitted, she likes to lounge on the furniture cuddled with one of her humans.
Nikki is healthy, Heartworm negative, housebroken, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. Nikki is very sweet and has an easy going personality that everyone loves. She will add immense joy to your household, fill out an adoption application at the upper left corner of this page, today
